- Do you wonder about whether or not you’re an “expert” enough to have a course? [Poll: Yes / Sometimes]
- So if you answered yes on that poll, there is a reason for that.
- I want to just chat for a moment about some mistakes that you may be making right now with the mindset when it comes to creating a course, that may be making you stuck in the land of overwhelm.
- So a lot of people assume that you need to have some degree to create a course, or you need to be like the best of the best
- But actually, that's not the real problem at all.
- The REAL problem is that you’re not thinking in the right mindset.
- I love using the example of my dad, who is celiac and absolutely cannot have gluten.
- When I decided to go gluten-free to battle some inflammation that I had, he told me all the secrets about how he avoids gluten, in restaurants, what the best gf brands are, and how to make it not so hard.
- Is my dad an expert in digestive health, or the leading researcher in gluten-free foods? No way. But you don’t have to be to help someone else.
- Instead, I want you to think of yourself as a MENTOR.
- My dad MENTORED me, and it was a whole lot easier as a result. I skipped over so much of the learning curve because I had him there helping me.
- And that’s what you are to your students. Helping them get to their goal faster, more efficiently, and with less of the common pitfalls that most entrepreneurs make when creating their course.
- I have been intentional with this mindset shift and it has helped WONDERS with my impostor syndrome, and in turn I show up better for my students and clients.
Engagement CTA: If this is something you are currently struggling with whether or not you’re ready to step into that mentor role - or if this story felt like it called you out, send me a DM and let's just chat -I've been there and I want to support you!
